HEART OF THE MATTER
How To Meet Women At Starbucks ☕

OK, so you're ready to dip your toes back into the dating pool, how exciting! 😄

The most important thing you can do right now is to simply get more comfortable talking to women. That's right, it's time to exercise those dormant social muscles! 💪

This is your new goal: find as many opportunities to practice talking to women as possible. And remember, this doesn't just apply to women you find attractive, but to all women 👩🏻👩🏼👩🏽

We can almost hear you thinking, 'But what if they're not single?'. This worry often pops up when we're coaching clients one-on-one.

We're going to let you in on a secret...

Women who are actually looking to date actually want to be approached!

Here's a simple rule of thumb you can follow from now on: unless there's a ring 💍, you're free to engage in a conversation. If they're not available, they'll let you know. Plus, with our respectful and warm approach, even if they're taken, you'll still brighten their day.

What kind of conversational opportunities should you be looking for?

Well, given that you're just getting back into the swing of things, we want you to seize pretty much any chance you get in your daily routine.

This could be as simple as a chat with the barista while you're getting your morning coffee, or a quick talk with the grocery store cashier as you check out 🛒. Don't shy away from striking up a conversation with women at the dog park 🐶, the gym, or even during your commute 🚆. Opportunities are all around - in the library 📚, a restaurant, or at your office.

What's the best way to kick off these exchanges?

🔑 Keeping it simple is key. Broad, open-ended questions lay down the welcome mat for things to unfold organically.

Here are a few examples that are both easy and effective:

  • How’s your day going so far? 🙂

  • Seems like a busy day today, how's it been going for you? 🙂

  • I'm looking to try something new, any [food/drink/book/podcast] you'd recommend? 🙂

  • You look like you're in good spirits! Is it a special day or just feeling great? 🙂

  • Thanks, have a great day! 🙂

~Also, sincere compliments go a long way~

We typically don't like to share scripted examples because the beauty of a compliment lies in its genuineness. This is a skill that will become more natural with practice. But here are some tips to get the wheels in motion...

When something captures your attention, makes you curious or brings a smile to your face, share it!

Whether it's "Hey, cute dog!", "Whoa, interesting phone case, where did you get it?", "That's a great book", or "Yum, that's my favorite sushi roll, enjoy!" - If it's genuine, it will be appreciated and has the power to create a connection.

Moving along!

Once you're feeling more confident about your IRL conversation skills, it's time to take the plunge and put yourself out there. And where better than the place where everybody knows your name?

That's right - STARBUCKS! ☕️ (Not sponsored BTW, but if you happen to work at HQ...)

Starbucks provides a casual, familiar, and inviting environment, making it a great choice for brewing up some frothy banter!
