It's about the energy, the 'vibe', the emotional state, you spend most of your time in.

Let’s talk more about what makes Guy #1 so captivating to women.

In short, he’s Mr. Good Vibes. He prioritizes doing things that make him feel good, which results in spending the majority of his time in a positive emotional state. These good vibrations radiate outwards and can be felt by others 🥰

But don’t take our word for it!

The Law of Attraction states that you attract what you are, not what you want. In other words, the first step to getting the thing you 'want', is to become that thing.

That's where the Emotional Guidance Scale comes into play.

The ‘EMOTIONAL GUIDANCE SCALE’ and How To Use it.

At its core, the scale consists of 22 levels, ranging from joy, appreciation, and optimism (the higher end 📈) to worry, desperation, and fear (the lower end 📉).

It was created by world-renowned spiritual teachers, Abraham Hicks, who have significantly contributed to the self-improvement field with their extensive body of work.

If you’re re-entering the dating scene after a long time, think of the scale as your emotional GPS 🧭. It can guide you to identify and understand your feelings, and what energy you’re putting out into the world.

You might be surprised by the order of emotions. For instance, 'worry' actually ranks higher than 'anger' 🧐

This could sound strange, but think about it… ‘Worry’ shows you're thinking ahead, which is more active, while ‘anger’ usually means you're stuck or stewing.

The Emotional Guidance Scale is respected in psychology because it takes all of this into account.

The higher up on the scale, the more likely you are to attract positive experiences (and compatible partners) into your life. Just like Guy #1.

As you can see, ‘Joy’ is ranked the highest.

Now let's be real, dating isn't always a joy-filled journey. And that's okay. You don't need to be Cupid on Valentine’s Day to attract love 😅

But you do need strategies to become aware of your emotions and energy, and the scale does just that - serving as your guide to gently move your way up, one small step at a time.

On a micro level, you can refer to it daily to manage the very usual ups and downs of dating life ⬆️⬇️. It can help you shift how you feel in just minutes, or even a few hours. (What a gift!)

On a macro level, you can use it to change how you generally feel about your dating life. For example, if you've been discouraged for a long time, let it guide you towards a more optimistic outlook, let's say, in a month or two from now.

So how does one move up the scale?

Gabby Bernstein, author of the New York Times best-selling book "Super Attractor," says:

"DISTRACTION IS POWERFUL. One of the fastest ways to guide yourself back up the emotional scale is to do something that makes you feel good. If I’ve had a bad day, I’ll pick out some music, grab my headphones and walk around the block."

"Fun can come from the simplest acts. Exercise, call a friend, do a crossword puzzle or play with your child. If an activity brings you a sense of satisfaction, contentment, excitement or happiness, then it’s fun. As soon as you lean into a joyful experience, you move yourself up the emotional scale."

Just to be clear, distraction does not mean avoiding what you're feeling. But rather, the better your emotional state, the better you can deal with the inevitable challenges that go hand in hand with dating.

Before we move along, here’s how to use the Emotional Guidance Scale, there's 4 steps:

Step 1. Find your current emotion on the scale 🔍

Step 2. Look at the emotion one step up from your current emotion and ask yourself:

  • A. What thoughts attract this emotion? 💭

  • B. How do I behave when expressing this emotion?

Step 3. Create/feel the emotion that is at least 1 step up from your current emotion:

  • A. Reach for better feeling thoughts, even if you don't feel connected to them at first. An affirmation is a great example.

  • B. Do an activity that brings you closer to joy.

Step 4. Repeat Steps 1-3 until you arrive at your desired emotion 🎯

💡PRO TIPS: 

  • You can jump emotions. It doesn’t have to be a linear process.

  • Every emotion that is a step up from your current one is an improvement, even if it’s on the lower end of the scale.

  • When you are just getting started, it helps to speak the words out loud to generate more feeling behind the exercise.

Alright, let’s prepare for landing 🛬 

Unlike your professional life, where you're required to show up daily, you don't have to be 'on' for your love life all the time. Especially not in the early phases of dating. This isn't about forcing things when you're not feeling it.

Instead, trust your pilot instincts. Double down on your love life when you're feeling good, otherwise, take a little break 😅! And don’t be surprised by a bit of turbulence along the way.
